oh damn, i'm so tired of working on this one i felt it's high time to leave it, at least for now. i'm not completely satisfied with her outfit and leg, but spare me the comments about it, i just couldn't change it no matter how much repainting it..

anyway, i have about 30-40 work in progress pics from this one, so i think some tutorial might come up soon..

i have to say i'm quite proud of the face, bubbles and the net thingy in the back.. as for the rest, still unsure..

as for the concept - YES, the theme is about love, YES, she has an angry face, NO, it was not meant to be romantic. Thank you.

why people assume it's gotta be nice, pretty and romantic when there's a heart theme? ugh.

done in painter 7 + photoshop for some corrections, reference of myself sitting for general pose and some references for the web in the back. No reference for the face, though.

She reminds me of Ms. Lovett from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber on Fleet Street. Is that where you got your inspiration from?

Her hair, and her anger reminds me of her.

as you can see this piece was submitted on September 2006. Burton's movie (which I love, but that's another story) came out in the very end (December) of 2007. So no, I didn't even hear of it a more than a year before it was in cinemas. And anyway this was just a random face doodle which made it into a whole piece. Not inspired by anything at all.

Amazing job. A tutorial would be fantastic, I've always wondered how people do this. I agree with the shoe comment you made, but the outfit is well-done and conveys being "shiny" effectively, so don't beat yourself up about that.
