Another art challenge by , , and
For each challenge we interchangeably give ourselves an idea or topic to illustrate and a short, specified time to execute it in whatever shape or form... of course, without knowing what the others are going to come up with.
This week's topic is `daekazu's idea: Interpretation of Nightmare by Johann Heinrich Füssli >>> [link].
_____
Only a concept sketch this time.. again. I'm too busy with work at the moment. But I have a pretty solid idea for it now.. though you might not see it yet. I wanted to interpret Fuseli's piece not word-to-word, but rather as an idea he wanted to show. A nightmare. A woman (just like in the original) slowly driven into madness by her own consciousness. We'll see how it turns out when I'm done with it..
I didn't want to follow it literally, I've seen so many interpretations of it while studying (History of Art), I was aiming more for a dialogue with the piece than strict variant on the topic.
I've been also recently re-reading Sandman again, so Delirium might've something to do with the concept as well as Fuseli's piece itself.
