David Bowie tribute by vinegar David Bowie tribute by vinegar
What a sad day.. David Bowie has been my first love. Back in 1991, when I was around 7, I saw Labyrinth and was amazed. To this day I think it was one of the strongest inspirations of my life. Not the film itself, but Mr. Bowie and all his creations.

Kinda rushed this piece, but I really wanted to draw something while still "in the moment". Admittedly it's kind of too much Flash, too little a combination of mature David Bowie with Ziggy Stardust, which was my goal. But hey. I noticed that right after I was done and scanned it, honestly. Guess I lost myself for a moment there.

Also - scanning reds suck, so I had to tweak the colour balance in Photoshop. At first it all looked like one shade of red, now it resembles more the original, with various shades of reds, oranges and purples. But still, scanning sucks.

Polychromos coloured pencils on A5 paper. Not sure what kind of paper, pretty thick one.

Lazarus (David Bowie)

Look up here, I’m in heaven

I’ve got scars that can’t be seen

I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen

Everybody knows me now

This is just wonderful.  It took his death for me to get to know him.  I'm listening to everything he ever did.   Wish I had gone to one of his concerts.
This is a beautiful rendering.

Great picture of David.

Sometime ago I bought his collection The Best of David Bowie 1969/1974. On paper it shouldn't be my music, but I liked what I heard, there were really good songs on that collection.

Also the movie Labyrinth is a good movie. Silly, funny and stylish at the same time.

Yes, yesterday after hearing about it on the news I too was shocked and surprised to find out that he passed away because of cancer (and I didn't even know he had it), and I even wanted to meet him but now it's too late but he still left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten, and that is also a cool picture of him you got there.

I give it 2 thumbs up and 10 stars!

And if you want to, you should see my tribute to Bowie known as "The Music of David Bowie"!

Tim Burton created Jack Skellington, not David Bowie.

Had to fave this for the same reasons you had to draw it. He has been such a big part of my life, how many people can honestly say they have touched and influenced as many lives as David Bowie? Not many xxx
